Our Institute has developed a novel enzymatic route for biodiesel production with the operational life of the immobilized lipase improved tens of times than traditional enzymatic ways. The related patent has been granted in China, America and many European countries.

　　Further, a novel air-lift loop bioreactor has been designed, which is the key equipment for the scale up of the process. This novel enzyme-mediated biodiesel production process has been successfully demonstrated on industrial scale with a capacity of 40,000 tons/year biodiesel. The product meets the specifications of the Chinese biodiesel standard and EN14214.
