The downstream processing of 1,3-propanediol (PDO) developed in our institute includes the removal of microbial cells and proteins with ultrafiltration, desalination with electrodialysis , vacuum evaporation and distillation. The final purity of PDO is higher than 99.8%. The product meets the polymerization demand for Polytrimethylene Terephthalate (PTT) production.
